Blur new song, big gig, Brits tonight, rehearsal / DoYaThing review and premiere at GSS / Jamie logo

Thanks for bearing with us over the last few days... now we're back with all the news and normal service is resumed. Thanks so much to everyone who sent things in here and there, if we missed a credit on a news item let us know via email.

Blur News
All the latest news on Damon's band Blur:-
  • Damon and Graham Coxon (Blur's guitarist) played a three song set supporting Ed Sheeran at a Warchild charity gig at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire on Sunday night. They played 3 songs: He Thought Of Cars / Strange News From Another Star / Under The Westway. The last is a new song. You can check it out on Youtube here in a great multi-angle video put together by fan 2GAlbarn. The other songs can also be heard by searching on Youtube.   • The rumour that Blur would play a show this summer has been confirmed - Blur will play London's Hyde Park on 12th August with The Specials and New Order supporting, as part of an Olympics Closing Concert. Check out the poster from the official Blur Facebook here. Tickets on general sale Friday 24th February, and there is a presale for BT Customers from tomorrow here.
  • Blur will perform a 5-song set at the 2012 Brit Awards tonight and pick up the award for Outstanding Contribution To Music. It will be broadcast on ITV in the UK live tonight, and no doubt will pop up on the internet afterwards.
  • Blur have redesigned their website. Check it out here.
  • Blur are this week's NME cover stars. The magazine is out tomorrow (Wednesday) in the UK, check out a small image of the cover here and an inner pic (small pic only) here and the included free poster preview is here.
  • NME.com have posted some Brits rehearsal video footage on their site here

  • Jamie has designed the logo for this year's series of Teenage Cancer Trust concerts at London's Royal Albert Hall. You can check it out here.

    Rolling Stone review DoYaThing / DoYaThing premiered at GSS event
  • The magazine Rolling Stone have heard DoYaThing and review it here, and they quote some of the lyrics as well (they gave it 3.5 stars out of 5).
  • There's also an NME review here (they liked it too!)
  • DoYaThing was premiered at the GSS concert at London's 100 Club on 15th February, the track was played as part of the GSS set (GSS sets consist of a DJ playing mixes of songs with additional drumming and percussion), however there were no special guests at the GSS show this time.
  • Fan chrisventura reports that the Carnaby Street (London) Converse shop has a large Gorillaz camo wall with a tv playing Gorillaz videos - you can use headphones to listen to audio too, and DoYaThing is featured on the audio playlist...
