Gorillaz fall to second in UK chart race after 3 days sales

Unfortunately after leading the album sales in the first two days of this chart week in the UK, Gorillaz' 'Plastic Beach' has fallen behind Boyzone's 'Brother' album (this reported by several music industry forums) in the race to be this week's UK #1. Analysts had predicted that with the buying patterns expected from Gorillaz' and Boyzone's respective fanbases, that Boyzone's sales would be stronger later in the week (particularly as, it has been suggested, many people will be picking up Boyzone's album as a Mother's Day present).

If you live in the UK and are planning to get Plastic Beach at some point, try and get it by Saturday to help the push for #1. (and if you already have a copy, get another for your mother for Mother's Day).
