Gorillaz mentions round-up

No substantive Gorillaz news in the last week, something that is likely to continue at present while co-creators Jamie Hewlett and Damon Albarn concentrate on Monkey: Journey To The West [Wikipedia] and The Good, The Bad & The Queen [Wikipedia]. However here's a round-up of the most interesting Gorillaz mentions in the press over the last 7 days:-

Singer on Gorillaz' hit DARE, Shaun Ryder gave an interview to UK newspaper The Observer, here during which he claimed he was offered a co-writing credit for DARE, but turned it down. An interesting read if you want to see what he's up to these days.

Damon Albarn gave an interview to UK music magazine NME, during which he claimed the forthcoming musical Monkey is "like Gorillaz, but with more dancers". See the scan of the article here.

US newspaper Sun News ran an article looking back at tv series The OC and singled out Gorillaz' Kids With Guns being used in an episode as one of the best musical moments of the series. Read the article here.

Finally, in an interview with a Spanish language newspaper S!, Damon Albarn claimed he felt that he felt the way the band behind The Good, The Bad & The Queen are presented 'as characters' wasn't a million miles from Gorillaz, the character-driven band.
