4:01pm: Take That use 'Dirty Harry' sample in their live show
This probably won't mean much to those outside the UK (and possibly Europe) but British boyband Take That, who have just started a 'comeback tour' of UK Arenas, have incorporated some of the Gorillaz' song 'Dirty Harry' into their live set. The sample plays during the band's hit 'Sure', during the show. Take That's comeback tour started in Newcastle last night.

4:03pm: Survey for dissertation on Gorillaz - appeal for interested fans
You may remember we featured an article by Lucy Scott-Galloway back in March called 'Reject False Icons - the Gorillaz and Postmodernism'. Now Lucy is drawing on the ideas in the article for her Masters dissertation, and is interested in hearing from Gorillaz fans about their feelings about the band. 4:19pm: Gorillaz nominated for Ivor Novello award
Just a little notice that Gorillaz are nominated for an Ivor Novello Award (the UK songwriting awards). Gorillaz are nominated for 'Best Contemporary Song' for DARE. The awards ceremony takes place on 25 May in London. Coldplay lead the list of nominees, with three nominations.
