Gorillaz UK GQ's 'band of the year'; / on cover of next UK GQ / photos from awards ceremony

Gorillaz won Best Band at the (UK) GQ Men Of The Year awards last night at the Royal Opera House in London. Mark Ronson presented the award. Giorgio Armani was present and Damon and Jamie commented on this at the awards, Damon saying "I'd like to take this opportunity to apologise to Mr Armani for my appalling behaviour the last time I saw him. I am truly sorry." Jamie added: "I would just like to add a genuine apology for Damon's shocking behaviour." (there was a previous mention of the Armani encounter by Damon and Jamie in the Record Collector interview, see previous G-U item here). Gorillaz performed live at the ceremony, according to The Sun and from the photo here it appears that O Green World was part of the performance. GQ also used the opportunity to update their website to show that Gorillaz (Damon, Jamie and Murdoc) will appear on the front cover of their next issue, accompanied by a new article. Oh gawd I remember that interview with Damon talking about meeting Armani. He got drunk as hell and thought he could speak Italian. XD That man lives as few dare to dream! This cover made me squee. Not only one, but three rather dashing guys in tuxes! Now if only we could get 2D in a tux...
