NY's 101.9 radio station "I'm With The Band" Gorillaz announcement due 12 noon GMT on Monday

Thanks to John, RosaJ and LordAcoustic for help with this news item:-

NY's 101.9 radio station has a Gorillaz-related announcement this Monday at 7am EST (12 noon GMT). They are advertising this with a banner on their website which says "I'm with the band gets animated". Check it out on their site http://www.1019rxp.com/index2/

The "I'm with the Band" segments primarily deal with giving you responsibility (e.g., announcing the band onstage, interviewing them, being their photographer) in exchange for being around the band.

There is speculation that this could mean there will be a Gorillaz live show in New York. Past and current "Im with the band" include Dave mathews at Citi Field (NY Mets Stadium), Muse at MSG, Julian Casablancas at Irving Plaza, Passion Pit in Brooklyn.

okay guys, what do i have to bring to the rehearsal gig tonight? Printed of tickets, Passport/ID, anything else? thanks in advance

So 7am standard time means that I'd have to be up at five to listen to it. Wonder if they'll stream it at a later date?

oh great, Gorillaz come on the New York radio and i won't even be able to catch it live, freakin classes. but i'm sure that like the UK radio broadcasts the stream will be available later. if Gorillaz do come back to NYC and perform there's no way i'm missing it. still bugs me how i totally missed the demon days shows.

I was always so mad that I was never able to go to the Apollo shows, so if they are coming over to the US I am defiantly going this time.

I'll be extremely disappointed if they don't do a show in the USA closer to where I live but despite all my bitching, if they play NYC and nowhere closer, I'll definitely find some way to be there.

Hmm... I am tempted to join G-Club at this point because I WILL be at this show. No question! I missed the Apollo shows, as well as Phase 1 tour. I can't miss this!

What is REHEARSALS???
Pls, if any german people are here....explain it....and pls not only a translation...i know in german it means "Wiederholung"...but this makes no sense...

Ein 'Rehearsal' ist eine Probe, die vor der offiziellen, öffentlichen Performance durchgeführt wird. Sie ist dazu da, um zu sehen ob alle nötigen Vorbereitungen getroffen wurden, damit die Show sozusagen gut über die Bühne geht. Du könntest also genauso gut 'Generalprobe' dazu sagen xD

Ich hoffe das hat dir weitergeholfen ^^

its not a tribute band. its just a band of people that were involved and created the album playing their songs/his songs

Oh snap. 101.9 actually plays something that's worth listening to.
I am SO TOTALLY THERE for an NYC show. Even if it conflicts with school, I will brave a 2-hour drive (actually, that's nothing to brave) and traverse to the Manhattan or Brooklyn or wherever the hell the show's at.
